Reinventing Recycled Packaging

These days, we all try to reinvent the way we do packaging.  One area of focus is eco-friendly measures and sustainability, both of which are hot topics for many people. Being able to change your packaging in order to turn your waste into luxury via recycling is important, and here, we’ll go over reinventing recycled packaging so that premium shipping boxes are crafted from post-consumer waste.

What is post-Consumer Waste

This is the waste that’s created after a consumer uses something. think about old newspapers, empty containers for drinks, or even old electronics. These days, you want to recycle it, since if you don’t, it will harm a landfill, or even harm the air around us if the item is incinerated.

These days, PCW is recycled through different recycling bin streams, where they’re collected by recycling programs and facilities. Utilizing recycled packaging to make more packaging is a way to streamline the way your packaging works, and in turn, reduce the gas emissions, trees cut down, and so much more.

Why use this for Premium Packaging

Lots of times, people think premium means we have to cut down whole new trees. That’s not the case.

Premium packaging is packaging that’s properly made to feel like it costs a lot. However, using post-consumer packaging to help with crafting this packaging is becoming brand new.

Creating boxes out of old and used packaging, and giving them an eco-friendly finish is something many brands are taking advantage of, hence why it’s something to consider if you’re a brand looking to improve your packaging experience.

With that said, you want to turn the waste into luxury through this experience, and set up specific recycling receptacles to help with all of this.

Why Use This?

The reason for using this is simple: most of the time, people worry way too much about recycling, or just don’t do it. when they don’t recycle, and instead allow waste to grow and fill, it ends up wasting so much in terms of resources.

However, when you use recycling and then take the post-consumer waste, break it down and then make it recycled packaging, it not only keeps the items in your ecosystem, but also is much easier to use once again.   That, combined with other eco-friendly incentives, is one of the best ways to create an innovative and interesting recycling process.

How brands can use This

Turning towards post-consumer waste for their items is not always easy to do, but if you’re a luxury brand that already has many of these recycled items, it could be your best bet.

Your first job is to design packaging that fits this. Then, you also want to include different ways to make it so that the packaging stands out. Being eco friendly is good, but also consider using paper-based packaging, adding eco friendly features, and so much more.

When you as a brand do this, you then want to communicate it with customers. It doesn’t have to be much, just a little nudge here and there, telling them a little bit about what you’re doing. Informing your audience about recycling initiatives isn’t just a good idea, but it’s integral, especially given how many people don’t realize the impact their recycling has on brand image and betterment.

If there are questions, ask a packaging expert. Getting it all aligned in a manner that showcases your eco-friendly image is great. By doing such, you’ll be able to elevate your brand, increase awareness and understanding and in turn reduce the carbon footprint that you put out by a whole lot, leading to a better, happier customer base.
